Application Administrator – Digital Experience Platform

Role Overview

To support continued platform development and site migration, the DXP team is seeking an Application Administrator . This position will play a vital role in supporting the DXP solution by managing the administration and on-going successful maintenance of the various solutions that make up the DXP platform.

Application administrators are responsible for the successful operation of the application environments they manage. They have a deep understanding of the solutions and their underlying technologies, effectively configuring, managing, and maintaining them to support organizational requirements and ensure sustainable operations. They collaborate with infrastructure teams to implement effective backup, security, data, and application management practices. They stay current on solution updates and engage with vendors to understand changes, enhancements, and their impact on existing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration and management of the applications and solutions in the DXP platform to ensure consistent and effective operation.
• Provide day-to-day operational support of the DXP platform, sustaining operational processes and monitoring performance measures, dashboards, and system logs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems, defects, and outages, coordinating with vendors and implementation partners when necessary.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding tickets to ensure SLA compliance.
• Oversee vendor platform updates, including reviewing planned updates, notifying internal groups of impending updates, and verifying platform performance post-update.
• Coordinate updates for platform components such as Drupal core and implemented modules, working with vendors and partners for successful management.
• Manage security profiles within the platform, ensuring proper allocation of roles and permissions.
• Support access management procedures to provide required access and maintain effective security measures.
• Ensure adherence to platform guidelines, standards, and content requirements while resolving any identified issues.
• Assist with site creation, site migration, and ensuring configurations meet functional requirements.
• Manage code and site deployments across environments and monitor deployment impacts.
• Evaluate, integrate, and manage additional modules for the platform to deliver intended functionality.

Education

• A three-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Continued education in Information Technology or equivalent experience is required.

Experience

• At least five years of hands-on experience in designing, building, operating, maintaining, and securing enterprise-class solutions in complex environments.
• A minimum of three years of experience in administering enterprise-level applications.

Required Skills

• Exceptional enterprise application administration skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution capabilities with the ability to escalate and manage evaluations.
• Solid understanding of operational procedures and guidelines with the ability to refine practices for stability and performance.
• Knowledge of front-end and back-end development languages, including PHP, JavaScript (and frameworks), CSS, and HTML.
• Experience managing integrations with data sources (e.g., API, database calls, local files).
• Proven experience ensuring compliance with coding standards and development best practices.
• Expertise administering platforms hosted on leading DXP/CMS systems.
• Extensive knowledge of Drupal 10, Drupal multisite, Acquia Site Factory, and Acquia Site Studio is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with personalization platforms such as VWO Personalization is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Acquia DAM and Content Hub is highly desirable.
• Superior oral and written communication skills, including active listening.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience working in agile operational environments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Higher education or public sector experience is highly desirable.
