Required Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of COBOL programming experience:
  • Mainframe MVS
  • VSAM
  • IDMS
  • CICS
  • Easytrieve
  • JCL
  • Background working in the financial services, trust, and/or insurance sectors
  • Must be highly effective working remotely
  • Must be able to travel every quarter or so to Montreal, Canada


Bonus Skills:

  • French speaking skills


Responsibilities:

As an Analyst-Programmer in software development, operations, and maintenance, you contribute to IT efficiency. You analyze, design, configure, develop, maintain, and evolve software products to meet organizational needs. You are responsible for ensuring the quality of coded solutions.


Your role involves contributing to the development of medium- to large-scale systems, programs, and applications by coordinating and implementing solutions while leveraging your technical expertise and anticipating innovations.


You analyze client and partner needs and influence directions regarding appropriate technological solutions. In this capacity, you plan, prioritize, and coordinate work to meet commitments aligned with objectives. The nature of the files and projects requires comprehensive knowledge in your field.


You contribute to solving complex problems through analysis and broad business domain expertise. Frequent collaboration is required, interacting with stakeholders from complementary areas of expertise.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Actively participate in strategy development, perform product analysis and development, including design, coding, test automation, and operations while applying best practices in development, data, and security.
  • Document technical solutions and practices to ensure product sustainability; prepare and deliver training for peers and consumers.
  • Provide technical support for IT operations, analyze complex issues, determine root causes, follow up on critical system incidents, and ensure resolution.
  • Collaborate with business partners and architects to align solutions with business intentions and objectives.
  • Be responsible for installing and testing software packages or implementing applications.


This position pays between 65-70/hr
