Meet’s leading biotech has engaged us on an exciting new search for an Associate Director - Senior Director, Discovery Toxicology!


We're seeking an experienced toxicology leader for our Advanced Molecule Design (AMD) group. You'll guide drug discovery programs from early stages through IND, overseeing toxicology assessments. The AMD team spans cancer biology and various drug modalities, including small molecules, degraders, ADCs, and radioligand therapies. This role requires scientific expertise, strong leadership, and a collaborative approach to manage toxicological risks across the oncology portfolio.



Responsibilities :

  • Conduct literature reviews to assess toxicological risks of targets and modalities, informing portfolio strategy.
  • Lead and oversee toxicology studies (in vitro/in vivo) from discovery to IND filing.
  • Use mechanistic assays (e.g., CEREP, hERG) and in silico tools (e.g., DEREK) for early toxicity risk identification, optimizing screening to mitigate risks.
  • Lead discussions on clinical risk vs. benefit and portfolio-level strategy for new targets and modalities.
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with toxicology CROs to support timely study execution.
  • Managing and mentoring younger toxicologist's career development .
  • Collaborate with discovery and development teams (e.g., DMPK, Chemistry, CMC, Pharmacology) on toxicology strategy, study design, and timelines to address challenges and leverage toxicology insights to predict and manage clinical risk.



Requirements :

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MSc) in Toxicology or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech toxicology, including IND submissions.
  • Proven success leading toxicology assessments from discovery through IND.
  • Expertise in regulatory requirements for IND-enabling studies.
  • Strong leadership and team mentorship skills.
  • Excellent collaborator and communicator across diverse teams.
  • Resilient and driven to deliver impactful cancer treatments to patients.


Location :

  • This opportunity is ideally located in Louisville, CO but open to considering candidates willing to be onsite at their San Diego, CA site as well.
  • Ideally hybrid onsite 4 days / wk at either location.
