Position Title: Senior Scientist, Assay Verification
Position Type: One-year contract
Pay rate: $45-60/ hour.

Overview
The Senior Scientist I position is a bench-level job focusing on real-time PCR and RT-PCR assay verification across GeneXpert platform instruments. The candidate will plan and execute analytical studies and demonstrate appropriate technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with cross-functional departments. May lead small studies with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as lead others to resolve project-related issues. This position is part of Assay R&D. Our client’s vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively solve complex problems that have a broad impact on our client's business by applying problem-solving skills and strategies for the verification of IVD tests on the company's platform.
- Effectively manage experiments with shifting priorities and meet due dates
- Maintain detailed experimental records, and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks and technical reports to meet the QSR Design Control, as well as other international standards such as ISO compliance and GLP/GMP requirements.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
- Lead others to take a new perspective using existing solutions to resolve project-related issues.
- Implement verification and validation SOPs and write technical reports
- Performing rigorous analytical studies required to demonstrate technical feasibility and design verification studies
- Handling clinical samples and assisting in microbiology work on BSL-1 and BSL2 organisms if needed
- Analyze data using statistical tools such as Microsoft Excel or Minitab; maintain detailed experimental records and document results in a technical report in a laboratory notebook and present data at internal technical meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular biology/Microbiology/Bioinformatics or related field with 2+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in Molecular biology/Microbiology/Bioinformatics or related field with 1+ years of related work experience.
