Job Details

Job Summary: The staff accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves managing general ledger entries, assisting with audits, and supporting month-end and year-end financial close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain General Ledger: Record and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

Prepare Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents.

Conduct Account Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.

Assist with Audits: Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee billing processes, manage vendor payments, and ensure timely collection of receivables.

Ensure Compliance: Stay updated with accounting regulations and ensure all financial practices comply with legal standards.

Support Month-End and Year-End Close: Participate in closing processes, including journal entry preparation and financial analysis.

Qualifications:

  • A good attitude and desire to learn
  • An associates degree or commiserate experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft office
  • High attention to detail
  • Organization abilities
  • Strong communication Skills
