Position Overview:

Role: Military Customer Program/Sales Manager

Industry: Aerospace, Defense, or Commercial Marine

Key Focus: Military business development, proposal management, contract negotiation, program execution, and customer relations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company’s military customer business plan. Identify new business opportunities via platforms like FedBizOpps and DIBBS.
  • Manage outside sales reps, review their monthly reports, and ensure the alignment of sales efforts with business objectives.
  • Lead proposal efforts, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and commercial requirements. Collaborate with management for final approval before submission.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and manage the execution of contracts. Allocate budgets and ensure project deadlines and cost objectives are met.
  • Track and report program status to both management and customers. Mitigate risks throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and ITAR, and communicate these regulations to internal teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with military customers, including end users, supply officers, and contracting officers.
  • Stay informed about company products and how they meet the specific needs of military customers.
  • Ensure all completed programs are closed out in a timely manner, ensuring all obligations are satisfied and documentation is in order.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a pilot or flight crew member is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in inside and field sales within aerospace, defense, or commercial marine sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the DoD acquisition process, program management principles, and the defense budget cycle.
  • Knowledge of Export Compliance, ITAR, FAR, and DFARS.
  • Strong technical understanding of aerospace products and how they apply to military markets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to varied audiences.
  • MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
  • High energy, well-organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
