Job Title: Project Engineer

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000

Location: East Dallas, TX

Industry: Metal Building Design


CANDIDATES MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE FE (FUNDAMENTALS OF ENGINEERING) EXAM


Core Function:

To be responsible for managing the engineering aspects of assigned metal building projects from design through completion. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure that all technical specifications, schedules, and budget constraints are met.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of metal building systems, providing innovative building solutions to meet the evolving needs of industries such as commercial, industrial, agricultural, and institutional construction.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the engineering design process for custom metal building systems, ensuring all project requirements and specifications are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, and construction, to provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and structural design of steel components, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and industry standards (AISC, AISI, IBC, etc.).
  • Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents required for the fabrication and erection of metal buildings.
  • Track project progress, manage schedules, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of project milestones.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (PE license is a plus).
  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on metal building systems, structural steel, or related industries.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000) and CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of steel building codes, standards, and construction practices.
