Job Description: Safety Professional – Deep Excavation Pipeline Project (Night Operations)
Location: San Diego, CA
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM to 5:00 AM)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Professional to manage and enforce safety protocols for a high-risk deep excavation pipeline project, a key component of the Pure Water infrastructure system in San Diego, CA. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, mitigating risks, and safeguarding personnel during nighttime operations.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in managing safety for deep excavation and pipeline construction projects, along with exceptional leadership skills and the ability to foster a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:1. Safety Oversight:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA standards and project-specific safety requirements for deep excavation activities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
2. Training and Communication:
- Lead daily tailboard meetings to reinforce safety practices and protocols.
- Provide specialized safety training for deep excavation and pipeline construction to all on-site personnel.
3. Incident Management:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans tailored to the risks of deep excavation.
- Investigate incidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
5. Collaboration:
- Partner with project leadership and crews to cultivate a safety-conscious culture.
- Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of dedicated safety experience, with a strong focus on deep excavation projects.
- Expertise: Confirmable project references demonstrating expertise in excavation safety management.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, especially those relevant to trenching and excavation.
- Availability: Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM to 5:00 AM)
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
