Position Overview:
Anode is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead and scale our manufacturing operations for cutting-edge mobile battery energy storage systems (mBESS). This pivotal role will establish and optimize manufacturing strategy & processes across multiple production phases, from initial prototyping through low-volume production, with a focus on scaling to meet growing demand of hundreds to thousands of units annually. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing process development, timeline management, production scaling, and operational excellence across various production volumes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Strategy & Scaling: Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing strategies that support seamless transitions from prototyping to low-volume production, with clear pathways to scale production volumes. Create and execute manufacturing readiness plans that anticipate and address scaling challenges.
- Manufacturing Process Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes that maintain quality and efficiency across increasing production volumes. Establish robust quality control systems and metrics that scale with production growth.
- Establish Anode PLM & BoM Management: Own and maintain scalable Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and Bill of Materials (BoM) management processes that support growing production complexity and volume requirements while ensuring data integrity and traceability.
- Contract Manufacturing & Supply Chain Development: Build and manage relationships with contract manufacturers and suppliers capable of supporting various production volumes. Develop and qualify additional manufacturing partners to support production scaling while maintaining quality standards.
- Production Infrastructure Planning: Lead the planning and implementation of Anode manufacturing infrastructure, including tooling, fixtures, and testing equipment, that can adapt to increasing production demands while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Lead Prototyping : Oversee the development and iterative improvement of prototypes to validate design concepts, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with demonstrated success in scaling production volumes.
- Proven experience managing production transitions from prototype to low-volume to serial production.
- Strong background in manufacturing process development and optimization.
- Experience with quality management systems and production control methods.
- Excellence in supplier and contract manufacturer relationship management.
- Strong project management skills with ability to balance multiple production priorities.
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of DFM/DFA principles.
- Proficient in CAD systems such as Solidworks
- Experience in the energy storage or battery industry.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience with 3DExperience as a PLM System
