Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Manage and lead municipal engineering projects, including road rehabilitation, stormwater management, subdivision and land development reviews, and utility design.
- Coordinate and oversee capital improvement projects for public sector clients, ensuring timely and successful execution.
Design & Technical Expertise
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, project proposals, and budget estimates.
- Oversee the permitting and design of infrastructure projects, such as roadways, drainage systems, and water/wastewater utilities.
- Evaluate project designs for compliance with local regulations and industry standards, providing expert technical guidance.
Client & Public Engagement
- Represent the firm at municipal planning, zoning, and land-use board meetings.
- Effectively communicate project updates and objectives to public officials, stakeholders, and community members.
Team Development & Supervision
- Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering their technical skills and professional growth.
- Supervise engineering teams to ensure high-quality project delivery within deadlines.
Construction Administration
- Conduct on-site construction inspections to confirm adherence to project specifications.
- Collaborate with contractors and clients to resolve any discrepancies during the construction phase.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Experience: 3–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in municipal or public sector projects.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of infrastructure systems, including roadways, stormwater management, and utilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) credential or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS tools. Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HydroCAD, SewerGEMS).
- Exceptional organizational abilities, effective project management skills, and a proven ability to work independently while fostering a team-oriented environment.
