As a Van Driver, you will have an impact on our customers by delivering our meats, produce, frozen goods, groceries, dry goods, equipment, and supplies to their drop-off sites. Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.nnLift 80+ lbs on a consistent basis.nnLoad and unload Van for multi-stop deliveries.nnTransport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.nnUse a hand truck and load bar.nnAccurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.nnResponsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.nnCommunicate delivery- customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).nnDeliver the product to each of the designated stops using the stop sequence provided for the day.nnUnload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer.nnCheck the invoice for complete delivery. Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any.nnCollect payments if necessary.nnMonitor refrigeration system on van consistently for safety; follow all safe food handling proceduresnnPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.nnOther duties as assigned.nnWhat you bring to the tablennEducation/Training:nnthe High School Education or GED preferrednnRelated Experience/Requirements:nnMust be 18 years of age or older.nnValid driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.nnNo more than 2 convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past 3 years, no driver’s license suspensions in the past 3 years.nn1-year multi-stop delivery experience preferred or 6-month local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.nnHand cart delivery experience preferrednnKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:nnAble to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulationsnnMust have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).nnMust pass pre-employment testing (including items such as Drug Screen & Background Check)nnHave knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.nnUse safe lifting and loading techniquesnnGreat interpersonal/customer service skillsnnAvailability to work on weekends and HolidaysnnGreat Box Truck/Van Drivers are crucial to the US Foods® team and one of the important faces of our organization.
