DrivernnType of Position Full timennSearch Location(s) Bronx, NY, Brooklyn, NY, Manhattan, NY, Queens, NY, Staten Island, NYnnApply Now ( BriefnnConducts the safe operation of company vehicles and equipment in accordance with local, State, and Federal laws, and within the guidelines set forth by CP Associations / CPT Policy and procedure.nnShift Worked:nn6-4nnWeekly Hours:nn37.5nnFLSA Status:nnNon ExemptnnPay range:nn$20.60 - $21.63nnPOSITION SUMMARY:nnResponsible for the immediate supervision of all passengers, in the absence of another staff person, while transporting clients from their point of departure to their final destination.nnPOSITION DUTIES:nnResponsible for providing safe, comfortable and punctual transportation to all passengers.nnSpeak to consumers, program personnel, parents and caregivers in a professional manner that is sensitive and respectful to consumer’s disabilities.nnAssist passengers with boarding and disembarking the vehicle.nnSecure all passengers in vehicles using seat belts and/ or wheelchair securing equipment.nnProperly operate any equipment used in or during transport, such as hydraulic lifts, ramps, tie downs, seat belts, safety flares, fire extinguishers, 2- way radios, beepers, etc.nnResponsible for handling all special and emergency requests in addition to regularly assigned runs, including non-consumer related transportation.nnResponsible for pre trip and post trip inspection of all assigned vehicles. Properly maintain vehicle while in your possession.nnAttend staff meetings as required.nnResponsible for the submission of all required documentation.nnAssist escort, and / or intervene independently in situations where consumer behaviors create a hazardous or unhealthy situation to themselves, and or other passengers. Examples of situations include: head banging, eating foreign objects, undressing, scratching or hitting others. Report all incidents that occur on the bus on designated forms.nnPerform all other duties as assigned.nnJOB REQUIREMENTS:nnCompliance with Article 19A of NYSDMV Traffic and Safety Laws.nnCarry a company I.D. card and Valid NYS Driver’s License at all times while on duty.nnNY/NJ/PA/CT C.D.L. Class B License with a passenger and air brake endorsement.nnMinimum 3 years experience driving and at least 21 years of age.nnAcceptable drivers abstract, containing no more than a combination of 2 moving violations or accidents within the last three years.nnMust possess basic map reading skills and working knowledge of 5 boroughs of NYC.nnBe aware of and comply with State and local Rules and Regulations governing commercial drivers.nnBe aware of a safety and evacuation plan for all equipment used.
