Backend PHP / WordPress Programmer

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced backend Programmer Contractor to maintain, enhance, and extend the functionality of our existing portal site, developed in WordPress using LearnDash, various plugins, and custom code. This is not a redevelopment project; instead, the focus is on optimizing and building upon the current platform. The right candidate will have a strong technical background, the ability to troubleshoot and implement solutions efficiently, and an understanding of nonprofit missions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and identify fixes and improvements for the current portal site.
• Reconfigure and optimize existing code to enhance performance and functionality.
• Maintain and implement new features using WordPress, LearnDash, and custom coding.
• Collaborate closely with the team to understand needs and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Provide a detailed timeline and progress updates, ensuring milestones are met within budget.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a programmer (not just a webmaster), with expertise in WordPress and LearnDash.
• Strong knowledge of custom coding and plugin integration.
• Familiarity with nonprofit environments and a passion for community-focused missions.
• Ability to estimate budgets accurately and manage project timelines effectively.
• Availability for onsite interviews (Tuesday/Wednesday) and ongoing onsite collaboration.

Timeline:

• Initial fixes to be completed within 1-2 months, with potential for ongoing collaboration.
