As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for your patients through expert evaluation and treatment. Your commitment to improving or restoring mobility and function while participating in collaborative community education efforts will be an essential part of our team.

Education/Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy, holding at least a B.S. degree.
  • Current Connecticut Physical Therapy license is required.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications and basic computer skills.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites is necessary for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients in alignment with departmental standards.
  2. Adapt evaluations based on individual symptoms and medical status to set measurable, individualized goals.
  3. Implement appropriate therapeutic exercises to enhance strength, endurance, coordination, and range of motion.
  4. Administer physical modalities and manual treatments to alleviate pain and achieve therapeutic goals.
  5. Utilize proven methods to normalize motor activity and facilitate learning.
  6. Provide education to patients and families regarding home exercise programs and functional activities.
  7. Assess patient progress and determine when to recommend discharge upon achieving maximum benefits.
  8. Document all findings and treatments in compliance with insurance guidelines and departmental protocols.
  9. Ensure effective communication with interdisciplinary teams and referring physicians for optimal patient care.
  10. Submit accurate charges consistently each day.
  11. Uphold the professional code of ethics as established by the APTA.
  12. Practice safe body mechanics and adhere to safety standards to prevent injuries.
  13. Supervise at least one affiliated student each year.
  14. Engage in continuing education opportunities to refine treatment techniques.
  15. Participate in department and community educational initiatives, documenting involvement accordingly.
