Description
ROLE:
Actively engagein the activities of the network infrastructure environment to ensure its availability, security, performance and responsiveness to change.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for carrying out and overseeing all day-to-day activities related to the administration of all hardware, firmware, and operating systems in support of physical and virtual technology environments including servers, routers, switches, firewall, VPN, Active Directory, VMware and network monitoring.
  • Administers Windows Server Operating System, Active Directory and Group Policies. Develops and maintains reliable, secure and high performing systems in a multi-site Windows Active Directory environment.
  • Responsible for actively engaging in the implementation of infrastructure improvements. Develops project plans, performs and directs team activities, maintains regular upgrade schedules, and brings forth recommendations for improving our environment.
  • Oversees network performance and monitoring; troubleshoots network issues and brings forth recommendations for improved performance, availability, and efficiency.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of the Credit Union network, data, and workstations, including: network access controls & protocols, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and firewall security.
  • Manages the Infrastructure Support help desk to ensure the friendly, timely and accurate response and resolution; handles all requests and assumes responsibility for escalated matters.
  • Manages and works with external service providers to ensure prompt and reliable performance of contracts and vendor responsibilities.
  • Participates in developing, documenting, updating and testing business continuity plans.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains procedures and network diagrams of Credit Union technology environment.
  • Trains, mentors, advises, and serves as a role model for other department employees and assists with oversight of the daily activities of the department.
  • Works cohesively with all areas of the Technology Department to ensure an efficient, effective, team based department; communicates effectively with management, co-workers, and employees throughout the organization.
  • Plays a lead role in both department and strategic initiatives and in the development and implementation of infrastructure improvements.
  • Participates in on-call rotation for off-hours critical systems monitoring and support. Ability to work extended hours as required leading and supporting key initiatives and responding to system issues. Required to carry cell phone for off-hours support.
  • Performs related and unrelated duties as assigned and therefore required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a computer technical field; plus 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Active Directory, and Virtual environments. Network+ certification or VMware certified professional designation desired. Continual progression towards attainment of relevant industry certifications required. Credit Union or financial institution experience preferred.
