Summary:
  • Prepared to respond to emergencies, assist doctors in emergency medical care, and ensure a high quality of nursing standards are maintained, among other duties and required to remain calm under pressure, display sound decision-making skills and be attentive to patient needs.
  • Department: ED Castleton
  • Shift timings: 19:00 - 07:00
  • This is a Night Shift job and timings are 19:00 to 7:00 hours. Traveler Registered Nurse Emergency Room certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Being ready to respond and equipped to deal with a medical emergency.
  • Quickly assessing patient needs.
  • Treating critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.
  • Performing minor medical operations.
  • Cleaning wounds.
  • Drawing blood.
  • Maintaining emergency room care standards.
  • ssisting with insurance paperwork.
  • Ensuring the efficiency of the patient check-in process.
  • Displaying strong decision-making skills in emergency scenarios.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ascension St. Vincent Freestanding Emergency Departments: 9 Bed Full Emergency Departments Adult and Pediatrics Staffed with 1MD, 2RN's, 1 Paramedic, 1 Rad tech, 1 Front Desk clerk 24hr a day. Accepts EMS to our facilities X-ray and CT capabilities Point of Care Lab- all RN's, Paramedics and Radiology Technologists are trained to run labs. Associates will float all 4 free standing sites during this contract: Avon, Castleton, Plainfield and Indy South.
