Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Job Summary:
Manages the daily operations of the diagnostic imaging department, including patient services, personnel, scheduling, finance and equipment. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols. Serves as primary liaison with other hospital departments to optimize operations, leverage best practices and align efforts. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Focuses on associate engagement and development.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years' registered technologist experience: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification: Preferred
- Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates all administrative operations of the diagnostic imaging department. Ensures timely processing of all patients while prioritizing emergent procedures, minimizing patient waits and optimizing turn-around times. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations. Serves as primary liaison with Revenue Cycle Departments to ensure accurate and timely billing.
- Creates an environment that fosters, engages and advances the development of associates Supervises diagnostic imaging personnel, including recruiting and hiring, orientation, training and development, scheduling and regular performance evaluation. Ensures optimum levels of staffing in accordance with hospital productivity targets. Conducts regular staff meetings and manages departmental committees and projects as directed.
- Manages quality assurance and evaluates new business opportunities and management approaches. Manages relationships with other departments to optimize interdepartmental workflow. Networks with Affiliates and AH Regional Hospitals to leverage best practices and align efforts. Participates in organizational and departmental growth initiatives. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and local, state & federal regulations, standards and protocols. Recommends process improvements and implements performance improvement programs as needed.
- Assists in strategic resource planning and develops, implements and oversees department salary, operation and capital budgets. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, evaluating and comparing possible courses-of-action, and making decisions/recommendations after considering the various possibilities.
- Researches and recommends operational efficiencies to increase departmental productivity. Provides service recovery for patients and providers to ensure healthy community relations.
