Position Details

• Title: Director of Pharmacy

• Start Date: December 30th (training with outgoing DOP)

• End Date: Until a permanent hire is found (likely through February)

• Schedule:

o Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (plus light on-call responsibilities)

o Weekend Coverage: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM (if PT pharmacist hours are unavailable)

• Coverage Hours:

o Training: 4-5 days prior to start

Skills & Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

o Active North Carolina Pharmacist License (required)

o Behavioral health and Joint Commission experience preferred

• Systems/Automation:

o HCS (Health Care Systems) experience preferred (training available)

o Omnicell experience a plus (training available)

• Specialty Areas: Behavioral Health

Responsibilities:

• Staff the pharmacy:

o Dispense medications

o Verify technician work and orders in the HCS system

o Assist with stocking Omnicell units

• Manage P&T, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and policy development/updates

• Ensure timely medication delivery for patients

• Oversee staffing and maintain budget control for both drugs and staffing

Staff Size:

o 1 Part-Time Pharmacist (0.5 FTE)

o 2 Full-Time Technicians (30 hours/week)

o 1 Part-Time Technician

• Technician Responsibilities: Dispensing, ordering, and repackaging (no order entry).

Site Background:

• In Joint Commission window

• Long-standing CPS customer

• UHS site with a history of high turnover in tech positions

• Omnicell installed in January 2024

Credentials Required Before Start

• Background check

• Drug screen

• HIPAA training and signed attestation

• CPS Code of Conduct attestation

• Proof of:

o Negative TB test (within 12 months)

o Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccines or blood titer proving immunity

o Varicella vaccines (2 doses) or blood titer proving immunity

o Hepatitis B series (or signed declination)

o Influenza vaccine

o COVID vaccine
