Pay Range: $18.80 -$21.30 per hour
*Pay rate is based on years of experience and educational qualifications.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. As the face of our company, the Phlebotomist will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients, ensuring a safe and professional environment. This role involves drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing, while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to established practices and procedures. The ideal candidate will excel in customer service, have excellent phlebotomy skills, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform blood draws (venipuncture and capillary) for both forensic and clinical specimens following best practices.
Verify patient information, ensuring accuracy in labeling and documentation, including patient signatures post-venipuncture.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient samples and procedures.
Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients to ensure their comfort and understanding.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment at all times.
Demonstrate organizational commitment, fostering positive interactions with patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to work at multiple locations and cover various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Job Requirements:
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric collections.
Must be flexible with work hours and locations, with the ability to handle on-call shifts and travel as needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
Ability to follow established procedures, make decisions based on guidelines, and exercise good judgment.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required (if applicable).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and adherence to company policies, including health and safety standards.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Medical training, such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic, is preferred.
Phlebotomy certification is preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
A minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
A minimum of two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
Customer service experience in retail or service-oriented roles is a plus.
Keyboard/data entry experience is preferred.
