Job Title: Outside Sales Representative
Summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for working with the BDC Representative on 1st appointments with potential customers, then setting their own appointments and meetings after 1st appointments with those potential customers to accomplish the objective of successfully closing a sale, generating positive profitability and exceeding customer expectations. After gathering customers’ needs and expectations, they design, price and recommend a backyard pool/spa utilizing professional and persuasive sales techniques. An Outside Sales Representative presents the company marketing and related sales information to customers in a planned presentation format. Time spent out of the office is more than half of their time, after training. This is a full-time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Conceptualize, design on digital programing, price on excel, present, and gain commitment for a swimming pool/spa or related backyard construction projects.
After the initial customer meeting, conduct scheduled follow up until the project is sold, or until the customer is no longer interested in pool ownership. Meet with customers and explain the features and merits of pool ownership.
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers in the office or by phone.
Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Quotes prices and credit term examples and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
Estimates date project start/completion to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production.
Works with BDC Representatives to keep account activities, appointments and literature up to date.
Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CRM.
Develops and maintains relationships with customers & trade partners.
Attends weekly sales & construction meetings for further acquiring a sale or change orders and helps move their sold jobs to excavation, then to job close out. Also weekly updating their customers out and in construction to cultivate excellent customer experiences that can lead to excellent customer report cards & sales bonuses.
Meet with customers to complete material selections and potentially increase the cost of the contract to sell & earn larger commissions through change orders.
Participate in marketing events such as seminars, home shows, and telemarketing events.
