Position Summary:

Lose Design is seeking a dynamic and motivated Civil Engineer Practice Builder to lead and grow our civil engineering team in the Denver, CO market. This key leadership position offers the unique opportunity to build a new practice within an established, multi-disciplinary office of architects, civil engineers, and landscape architects. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven professional with strong business development skills, technical expertise, and leadership experience in civil engineering. As the Practice Builder, you will be responsible for winning new projects, expanding our market presence, and building a talented, high-performing team of civil engineers.


Key Responsibilities:


Business Development & Market Growth:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Denver area across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, municipal, and institutional.
  • Leverage existing relationships with key clients, developers, and local agencies to generate leads and secure contracts.
  • Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and client communications to effectively communicate the value of our services.
  • Develop a deep understanding of local market trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory environment to position the office for sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set and achieve revenue targets, ensuring that growth goals are met within set timeframes.


Team Leadership & Talent Development:

  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing civil engineering team by recruiting top talent, providing ongoing professional development, and fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Promote cross-discipline collaboration within the office, working closely with architects, landscape architects, and other design professionals.
  • Oversee project delivery and ensure quality, timely, and cost-effective results for all civil engineering projects.
  • Establish team performance metrics and provide regular feedback and guidance to ensure the team’s professional and personal growth.


Project Oversight & Delivery:

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects, ensuring that projects meet client needs, comply with regulations, and adhere to company standards.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, offering strategic advice on civil engineering design and solutions.
  • Coordinate project execution, from conceptual design through construction, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.


Brand Building & Market Presence:

  • Establish and maintain a strong market presence and reputation for civil engineering excellence in Denver and the surrounding areas.
  • Represent the firm at local industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Drive thought leadership by engaging with local professional organizations, writing articles, or presenting at industry events.


Required Qualifications:


· Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.


· Licensing:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a proven track record in business development, team leadership, and project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of the Denver market and experience working with local clients, developers, and municipalities.
  • Extensive experience in a variety of civil engineering disciplines, including site development, land planning, stormwater management, transportation, and utilities.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role with a demonstrated ability to build and lead teams.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation will vary based on skills and experience ranging from $100,000 to $200,000.
  • Compensation includes salary and performance-based incentives.
