This position is responsible for assisting the Production Manager in daily operations of the manufacturing facility in order to meet production schedules, quality and safety goals. The position reports directly to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities
·Responsible for the overall daily production and manufacturing activities, scheduling, processes and supervision of production personnel.
· Assists in training, development and support of employees in order to ensure employees can excel at their role.
· Ensures proper collection and reporting of data necessary to track performance of the manufacturing operation against the plan (i.e. labor efficiency, scrap reduction, deviations), identify root causes of issues and support problem solving efforts.
· Administers effective performance evaluations, development plans and disciplinary actions and mentors employees through formal channels, identifying development needs and counseling on overcoming them.
· Ensures effective communication of plant priorities, initiatives and performance requirements to all plant employees.
· Represents plant/Company to key customers during on-site visits and audits.
· Ensures adherence to defined SOP’s and safety standards.
· Assist with identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
· Ensures a safe work environment for all employees through company directed safety programs, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and promotion of a strong preventative safety culture.
· Assume Production Manager’s role as needed
Qualifications
· 2 or 4 year technical degree or equivalent work experience in production field.
· Basic computer skills-Excel, Microsoft, etc.
· Proven track record demonstrating ability to lead people , create operational goals and implement performance tracking systems.
` Oversees and develops manufacturing budgets and accountable for manufacturing expenditures, working with purchasing to assure appropriate raw materials levels and availability.
· Experience in meeting production schedules, controlling and improving line efficiency.
· Strong technical knowledge of equipment.
· Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization , including sales department.
· Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
· Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems
