Cost Analyst

This exciting role will be responsible for conducting and overseeing analysis activities, directing and assisting with estimates of initial and ongoing costs of products and projects, and tracking cost changes throughout the entire product and project lifecycle. A solid understanding of building cost models, management, and financial business operations will be needed to be successful in this role. They are headquartered in the Montesano, WA area. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance pumping and mixing equipment used for various municipal, industrial, and agricultural applications. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and review cost analysis by assessing material, labor, and overhead costs incurred in the production or assembly of parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products
  • Perform detailed variance analysis of actual financial results versus plan, forecast, and key performance metrics
  • Maintain variable cost files and price/volume variance analysis by product
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products and projects
  • Examine data to help reduce costs in all operations
  • Coordinate with the sales team to prepare estimates and bids for clients
  • Prepare BABA and IRA audit information
  • Utilize and maintain records and documentation of production costs, performance against established standards, and other related metrics
  • Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the manufacturing
  • Collaborate with Operations to maintain the required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production
  • Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase the efficiency of the supply chain and profitability
  • Work with Operations and Purchasing to develop policies to increase efficiency
  • Work with purchasing to identify changes in raw material and other purchasing costs to target contract negotiations


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business, finance, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, or Program Management experience
  • Experience building cost models, analyzing cost trends, and assessing opportunities and risks for new or early-stage product development
  • Capability of translating analysis results into business recommendations
  • Excellent managerial and financial skills
  • Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas of business operations
  • Proficient with Excel spreadsheets, SQL software, and systems and MRP systems
  • Comfortable with decision-making and problem-solving
  • Skilled at cost estimates and cost analysis with an eye for detail
  • Experience with takeoffs, variance analysis, and change orders


Salary Range:

  • $80,000-90,000 depending on experience
