Overviewnn$30/hournn$5,000 sign on bonusnn(applicable to external candidates only)nnThe Advocates Day Habilitation Program in Ashland, MA is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team of nurses. The Day Habilitation Program serves adults ages 22 and over with developmental disabilities to engage in therapeutic and recreational programming. The LPN provides daily nursing services including medication administration, g-tube feeding administration, first aid, and more. This is a full time position with daytime weekday hours- no weekends or major holidays. $5,000 sign on bonus and generous benefits offered. New graduates welcome.nnAre you ready to make a difference?nnMinimum Education RequirednnHigh School Diploma/GEDnnShiftnnFirst ShiftnnAdditional Shift DetailsnnMonday-Friday 8a-3p (flexible)nnResponsibilitiesnnResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:nnAdminister prescribed medication as necessary.nnConsult with Team Leaders, Case Managers, Skills Instructors, Aids and other essential individuals on a day-to-day basis to share any pertinent medical information.nnMonitor recommendations in conjunction with the comprehensive written therapeutic service plan (DHSP/ISP) process and the interdisciplinary team. Provide daily nursing notes and monthly summaries as necessary. Review, maintain and update medical information in each file.nnPromote community inclusion and self-advocacy.nnCollaborate with and provide consultation to Team Leaders, Case Managers and Skills Instructors to develop and implement DHSP/ISP curricula in pertinent areas.nnProvide emergency first aid and direct staff in the case of a medical crisis.nnAttend and actively participate in staff meetings and in-service training, as required.nnAttend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certificationsnnQualificationsnnGraduate of an approved nursing school with current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Licensed Practical Nurse. 1 year experience in a community healthcare setting preferred.nnStrong oral and written communication skills with individuals, families, funding sources, consultants, the community at large, and the program and administrative staff.nnMust be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.nnStrongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.nnBasic computer knowledge.nnMust hold a valid drivers’ license.nnAdvocates is committed to cultivating a diverse and welcoming community where everyone feels respected and valued.
