Must Have:
5 years RN
Registered Nurse Med Surg Telemetry
Nice to Have:
1 year critical care experience
a backup charge nurse
Managed onboarding
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is to help fill open FTE for the internal float pool and will primerily cover the ED boarding needs overnight.
If the ED is not in boarding status the RN will be used elsewhere at Aurora St Luke's Hospital on a Med Surg/ Telemetry/ Rehabiltaion/ or observation unit
The needed shifts will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. No weekends no Holidays. Overtime may be approved as needed.

Skills required
I/V Pump and I/V insertion/central, PICC and midline catheter care, Tube Feeding Pump, GI/PEG/NG tube management and care, NG tube insertion, Wound Vac/wound care, indwelling catheter insertion and care, trach care and suctioning, laryngectomy care, drain care, management of behavior issues
Support on the Unit:
Charge nurse, may have a patient assignment
Unit secretary - days and PM; no overnight coverage
Hospitalist, 24/7
RT, 24/7
Phlebotomy to assist with peripheral blood draws
Charting System/Equipment:
EPIC - preferred
Alaris
Pyxis
Lifts: Hoyer lifts, ceiling lifts, sit to stand lifts
Floating:
all other MedSurg areas; ED Holding, with a 1:4 ratio
Travelers 1st to float
Orientation:
1-2 days, based on comfort
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every other, as needed
Can we approve time off? All RTO to go through NM
On Call: none
Holiday Expectations: every other
AAH adheres to a "fatigue policy" where all staff, including travelers, cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12 hour shifts

Scrub Color: Any - no camo/denim
Must document pain level, before and after (1 hour for oral) giving pain medications - The pain score must also meet the pain score with nth medication order-i.e. if a patient has a score of 8, the RN cannot give the Tylenol that is ordered for mild 1-3. The RN must call for an order if the patient wants Tylenol for the score of 8.
