Genesis10 is currently looking for a Senior Project Manager with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Migration for a 6 month contract- likely convert to perm with client for a banking client in Atlanta GA. (moving to Sandy Springs GA in mid 2025). 5 days on site Role Overview: The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end migration of our company's infrastructure and applications from data centers to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires expertise in cloud migration, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure a seamless transition by Q3 2025. The Project Manager will collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and cloud engineers to minimize downtime, mitigate risks, and deliver on strategic goals. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in modernizing the company’s infrastructure by leading a critical migration to GCP. This transition will drive operational efficiency, enhance scalability, and position the organization for future innovation. By ensuring a seamless migration process, the Project Manager will contribute to achieving strategic objectives and maintaining business continuity. Key Responsibilities: Migration Strategy & Planning: Define the migration strategy and roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors to ensure compliance with timelines, budgets, and service level agreements. Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with the migration and develop mitigation plans to address security, latency, and compatibility challenges. Technical Oversight: Coordinate with cloud engineers, network architects, and security teams to design and implement the architecture on GCP. Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, approve expenditures, and optimize costs associated with cloud resources and vendor services. Project Governance: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of key milestones leading up to the go-live date. Enforce adherence to established governance policies by monitoring project deliverables, timelines, and budgets. Identify and document risks and issues (RAID), while escalating as necessary to program leadership. Testing & Validation: Oversee migration testing, including performance benchmarking, data validation, and redundancy checks to ensure a stable environment. Communication & Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and outcomes. Post-Migration Optimization: Develop a post-migration support plan to ensure the stability of the GCP environment and identify opportunities for optimization. Required Basic Qualifications: Proven experience managing large-scale data center migrations, preferably to cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure. Strong understanding of cloud architecture, network design, and data migration best practices. Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, and Smartsheet. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and meet tight deadlines. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. PMP is required; CSM is highly desirable. GCP certifications are desirable. Compensation: Hourly W2 pay rate $80-$85We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
