Job Description: The pediatric ambulatory RN is an integral member of the patient's healthcare team and is responsible for performing outpatient care for patients in primary care and specialty care clinics. The pediatric ambulatory RN is responsible for coordinating and managing care for pediatric/ adolescent clinic patients inclusive of preventative care, newly diagnosed and established care for patients with chronic disease in the clinic setting; is up-to-date on current ambulatory therapies and research; promotes self-management skills and provides collaborative and comprehensive care that optimizes the patients management of their health and illness; practice is in compliance with hospital policy, procedures and protocols and in accordance with the providers plan of care; acts and serves as a patient and family advocate; establishes trust and builds therapeutically effective relationships with the patients and families.Position SummaryThe registered nurse, adheres to the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. is primarily responsible for professional performance and direct patient care. The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum.
