Role Overview
Miltera Machining Research Corp is seeking a skilled CNC Operator for our afternoon and weekend shifts to operate and maintain CNC machines in our precision machining environment. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-precision components for research and industrial applications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
· Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines according to established procedures and job specifications.
· Load parts, verify settings, and run programs to produce parts with tight tolerances.
Quality Control:
· Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards.
· Document operations, including time studies and inspection results.
· Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
· Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines to keep them in optimal working condition.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machinery, programs, or parts, with minimal downtime.
Programming:
· Modify existing CNC programs or create basic programs using G-code for simple part adjustments or new setups.
· Work closely with the programming team for complex setups.
Safety and Efficiency:
· Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Teamwork:
· Collaborate with shift team members, including setup personnel, quality control, and engineers, to meet production goals.
· Participate in shift changeovers to ensure smooth information transfer.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining or related field
Proven experience as a CNC Operator, with at least 2 years on CNC mills or lathes.
Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and understanding technical drawings.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for basic programming is a plus.
Strong understanding of precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and CMM.
Ability to work unsupervised with a focus on detail and quality.
Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Must be able to stand, bend, and reach during shift.
Manual dexterity required for operation of machinery and use of hand tools.
