Job Description:
Supports the occupational health function to ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded. Assists in the identification of gaps and needs and recommending programs, policies and procedures that help prevent harm to workers and property. Oversees occupational health and preventative health programs that support CCA employee health and wellness strategy. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory occupational health requirements including, but not limited to OSHA, DPH, ADA and FMLA.Oversee and manage the implementation of new occupational health software across the CCA footprint. In collaboration with manager, develop software ‘roll out’ plan. Serve as a software expert within the department, exploring the full capability of the available tools.Assess software capability to meet CCA’s needs, making recommendations for modification, if necessaryRun all necessary reports from OH software to keep the department and leadership informed.Assist employees with Occupational health system questions and issuesManage and oversee MIIIS vaccination database Perform ergonomic assessments to assist with proper workstation set-up. Review accommodation requests. Collaborate with business partners and make recommendations with regards to accommodations under ADA.Oversee Return-to-Work from STD/FMLA leave of absences.Track progress on Occupational Health Initiatives and communicate regularly with the OH team about progress and roadblocks hindering execution of strategic plan.Perform contact tracing to prevent the spread of infectious illness within the workplace. Create and Deliver presentations to employees and managers on occupational health topics.Contribute to and participate in employee training programs as appropriate to ensure employees understand health and safety requirements.Maintain confidential documents in Employee Health records Working Conditions Office setting with travel by car or public transportation to other office/clinical sites. May travel to member’s homes or other community settings to conduct accident investigations or observe workflow. Adhere to all applicable compliance requirements including but not limited to: Complete required compliance training in a timely mannerReview Code of Conduct at least annually and promote and enforce CCA’s Code of ConductPromote and enforce CCA’s compliance programAdhere to CCA’s Policy & ProceduresPromptly, in good faith, report any instances of suspected fraud, waste, and abuse; suspected privacy and/or security incidents; or any compliance concerns identifiedEnsure confidentiality of member and company proprietary information is maintained Required (must have)Diploma in NursingUnencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts5+ years of occupational health nursing experience in a healthcare setting or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.Working knowledge of Massachusetts workers’ compensation law, HIPPA, OSHA, ADA and FMLABroad based knowledge of occupational health and general nursing practices, procedures, and protocolsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to perform tasks or duties with frequent interruptions.Must be able to identify deficits and problems, analyze the situation, and assist to develop and monitor a plan for corrective action and make decisions independently or in consultation with other members of management team, using good judgment. Desired (nice to have)Bachelor’s degree in nursing PreferredBachelor of Science in NursingCertification as an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (COHN-S) desirable
