2-3 month contract (short term role)
Onsite in Libertyville, IL
*Open to a fresh Grad- Must have some research laboratory experience*
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for:
- Building prototypes according to detailed instructions and drawings.
- Preparing material and/or product samples for testing per test method instructions.
- Performing laboratory testing per established test methods and/or protocols.
- Creating and maintaining effective and accurate records
- Utilizing the electronic document management system to create and maintain electronic laboratory notebook entries
- Generating basic MS Excel spreadsheets of test results
- Performing weekly eye wash and safety shower inspections
- Performing routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Organizing and cleaning lab spaces as needed
- Identifying inefficiencies and roadblocks in own work
- Participating in gauge R&Rs for test methods
- Completing ongoing training requirements
- Other duties as assigned
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience / Education Requirements
- 2-year associate degree, Trade Certification or Bachelor’s in a technical field and 0 - 2 years of experience working as a technician in an industrial/research laboratory setting, medical device industry preferred
- Ability to work under the direction of other technicians, engineers, or scientists
- Demonstrates working knowledge of technologies and processes used by the technical function
- Strong communication skills, both orally and technical writing skills
- Demonstrates a functional understanding of experimental design
- Is familiar with equipment and processes used in new product development laboratories, for example leak testers, heat sealers, etc.
- Familiar with Universal Test Equipment and Software
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel
- Possesses rote problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with medical device quality and regulatory systems preferred
