Position Description

As a key business leader and developer in a multi-restaurant market environment, you will be responsible for creating an environment where Area Directors, Restaurant General Managers, and Assistant Managers are encouraged to grow and develop. You will ensure objectives are achieved while adhering to all company guidelines, cultural values, and ethical business practices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interview and select Area Directors and Restaurant General Managers.
  • Support and supervise Area Directors throughout the training program.
  • Champion an inclusive work environment that values all team members and strives for work/life balance.
  • Proactively manage performance through regular one-on-one coaching, assisting in development plans, recognizing accomplishments, and making equitable reward decisions.
  • Act as a role model, championing brand standards.
  • Set daring goals, assign clear authority and accountability, and hold yourself and others accountable for performance and meeting commitments.
  • Creatively choose options and tactics within business guidelines to increase sales and drive efficiency.
  • Anticipate problems and develop adaptable responses.
  • Create and maintain an honest environment where safety and asset protection are integral to everyday operations.
  • Fully and actively participate in company-sponsored learning activities and seek personal growth.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity and act consistently with the overall values of the business.
  • Develop and accomplish Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Use systems, administrative processes, and metrics to perform gap analysis.
  • Facilitate Period Business Reviews with the Area Director team to understand financial outcomes and develop strategies to overcome challenges and capitalize on successes.
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews with the executive leadership team.
  • Communicate changes openly, build support for initiatives, solicit and encourage feedback, anticipate resistance to change, explain the rationale behind changes, and follow up to lead change.


Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Hospitality or Hotel/Restaurant Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of second-level multi-restaurant management experience, preferably with a national chain restaurant.
  • 3-5+ years of supervision of multi-restaurant leaders.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area and throughout the organization as requested.
  • Superior eye for business: demonstrated ability to analyze and impact business results at an organizational level.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, persuade, and collaborate with team and peers.
  • Demonstrated analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
  • Superior organization and self-management skills.
  • Ability to manage/lead others, integrate change, and build a diverse and effective team.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to achieve results through others and build an engaging culture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods without a break.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, or other elements.
  • Ability to travel to other restaurants, meeting venues, etc.


Additional Position Requirements

  • Must live within the geographic area being supported.
  • Ability to work extra hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as required.
  • Flexibility to accommodate a variable work schedule from week to week.
  • Travel within the assigned area and throughout the organization as requested.
  • Driving on company business (requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance coverage meeting or exceeding state requirements for property damage and bodily injury).
