General Maintenance Handyman

About the Company

Queens Complex of 230 apartments looking for a “Handyman.” Candidates should have a minimum of THREE YEARS experience in professional NYC building maintenance. The position is FULL TIME. Compensation is based on experience and presentation at the interview.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of NYC building codes and inspections
• Completing daily work orders in a timely manner
• Prepare and renovate vacant units
• Hybrid oil-gas boiler systems
• Basic plumbing, electrical, flooring, framing and drywall knowledge
• Basic hand tool use, such as drills, screw guns, jigsaws, circular saws, tape measures, chop-saws, caulk guns, snow blowers, dumpster dollies, power washers, generators, leaf blowers, bolt cutters, pneumatic nailers, etc.
• Experience with elevator systems and operations
• Landscaping and snow removal
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Ability to follow instructions and to work independently or as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Must have strong tenant-service aptitude and skills.
• Looking for a self-starter who can “own” work orders and maintenance tasks.
