Title: Project Manager
Duration: 8 Months – Long Term
Location: Washington, DC 20433
Hybrid Onsite: 4 Days per week onsite from Day1.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Project Manager to lead and manage data-driven projects using Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of complex projects, driving efficiencies through data insights, and ensuring the effective implementation of Agile principles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, developers, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality, data-centric solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Agile Project Management:
- Lead Agile teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects using Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks.
- Manage product backlogs, create user stories, define project milestones, and prioritize tasks in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews).
- Foster an Agile mindset and encourage continuous improvement within teams.
- Data-Driven Project Leadership:
- Manage data-centric projects, ensuring data quality, integrity, and alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to define project objectives, KPIs, and deliverables.
- Use data to drive decision-making and improve project outcomes (e.g., analyzing performance metrics, risk factors, and resource allocation).
- Ensure the proper collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to inform project direction and improve project efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with business leaders to define project requirements, expectations, and timelines.
- Regularly communicate project status, risks, and achievements to senior management and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely feedback.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and roadblocks, ensuring they are mitigated or resolved in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain risk management plans to proactively address potential challenges.
- Ensure the team is empowered to resolve issues, escalating when necessary.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track project performance using data-driven metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts, lead time) and adjust project strategies as necessary.
- Report on project progress, deliverables, and outcomes using dashboards, status reports, and presentations.
- Continuously monitor project health and quality, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and scope.
- Team Development and Collaboration:
- Lead, motivate, and support a cross-functional project team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Provide guidance on best practices for Agile and data-driven project management.
- Promote a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making within the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM) or Safe Agile certification preferred.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
