Job Description

The Axel Group is seeking a Construction Project manager with 5+ years of experience to join their clients team based out of Chester County, PA. This client offers competitive salaries, strong benefits, and the opportunity to work with an amazing team!


Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Oversee and manage a team of Project Managers (Tier 1 and Tier 2) and Assistant Project Managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign projects to PMs and APMs, ensuring workloads are balanced and aligned with their skills and development goals.

Project Oversight:

  • Monitor the progress of all projects within their portfolio, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are maintained.
  • Resolve escalated project challenges and ensure proper risk management practices are in place.
  • Support the project team (i.e.. PMs, APMs, PCs, Supers, Accnt. etc.) with client communication, issue resolution, and technical expertise as needed.

Strategic Management and Bidding:

  • Prepare competitive bids for high-value projects, collaborating with the estimating team to ensure profitability and risk alignment.
  • Oversee bidding strategies for PMs, reviewing and approving their estimates and proposals.
  • Align project outcomes with broader business objectives, contributing to company growth.

Process Implementation:

  • Facilitate collaboration between Directors, Operations and assigned Project Managers to ensure alignment with established processes, while holding PMs and APMs accountable for adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Review and refine workflows to improve efficiency and ensure consistency across all projects.

Client and Stakeholder Relations:

  • Represent the company in client meetings, industry events, and community engagements.
  • Manage key client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and facilitating opportunities for repeat or new business opportunities.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
  • Expertise in construction management principles, estimating, and bidding strategies.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects and ensure team accountability.
  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking for aligning team performance with company goals.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management and estimating software (e.g., Smartsheet, Acumatica, Procore, and Bluebeam).
