Additionally, they perform a variety of routine accounting duties, following existing procedures and methods, and provide support to other members of the accounting team as needed.nnThe ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong analytical skills. They should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in using accounting software. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members are also essential qualities for success in this role.nnBy efficiently managing accounts payable and supporting the accounting team, the Accounting Clerk significantly contributes to the company's financial health. Their work ensures that financial transactions are processed accurately and timely, which helps maintain the company's reputation for reliability and integrity in its financial operations.nnAll employees are expected to protect the information and assets of the organization through heightened awareness of information security, cybersecurity, and risk management best practices, as well as complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.nnESSENTIAL DUTIESnnReceive and prepare invoices and employee reimbursement requests for payment, ensuring that necessary authorizations have been received before disbursement.nEnter and maintain invoice and vendor data in accounts payable software.nGenerate invoice payments on a weekly basis. Assemble and prepare invoices, remittance advices and checks for mailing.nResearch and resolve billing and payable problems or questions.nMaintain filing system for paid invoices.nMaintain subsidiary schedules that support and reconcile to control accounts or control activities.nRecord entries into general ledger and print out various general ledger reports.nMaintain W-9 and 1099 reporting.nAccurately key or scan document data into imaging equipment, ensuring all information is properly filed, indexed and cross-referenced through electronic means.nProperly review and check back scanned documents to ensure accuracy of electronic files.nEnsure that electronic records are properly maintained, archived and stored according to established policies and regulations.nPrepare and post subsidiaries activity, including cash receipts, journal entries, general ledger, cash disbursements and general ledger reconciliations as well as all required reports.nReceive and post entries for checking and dividend accounts, reconcile accounts and prepare various reports.nProvide support to other areas of the Accounting Department as necessary.nUtilize strong communication skills to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.nAssume responsibility for special projects and tasks as assigned.nnEDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONSnnHigh school diploma or equivalent education required.nnMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSnnExcellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels.nA positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.nStrong organizational skills and attention detail.nCritical thinking skills and the ability to apply sound judgement in decision-making.nAbility to accurately and quickly complete standard mathematical calculations, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.nAbility to analyze and interpret common and specialized financial reports.nProficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.nIntermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.nCurrent drivers license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.nThe ability to work with minimal or no supervision.nnADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSnnAssociates degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.nOne or more years of experience in Accounting or a related field preferred.nnPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTnnThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
