Insight Global is seeking a Secret Cleared Senior Systems Administrator to maintain and further the development of mission-critical hardware and software systems. The role involves interaction with network engineers, software developers, testers, end users, and stakeholders. The candidate may collaborate with team members on solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. The systems are developed at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ as part of the U.S. Army's network modernization effort.
Must Haves:
- Active DOD Secret
- BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field – Firm LCAT requirement
- 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
- Agile SDLC familiarity
- CICD/Jenkins, DevOps pipeline - firm must have
- Windows 10 Server & Linux
- SQL Server, Active Directory – huge plus
- One of the following certifications:
- Windows/Linux Server Computing Environment Certificate
- IAT Level 1, Security+, SSBI
Pluses:
- Certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell)
- Knowledge and usage of web-based software applications
- Experience using and/or maintaining Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Git, Nexus)
- Cisco - Nexus switch and routers
- Linux - RHEL7-8
- Container - RKE2, Docker
- Networking: Cisco/Nexus switches & routers
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Monitor and manage system resources to maintain operating efficiency
- Perform system security administration functions, including account maintenance and application of software patches
- Write and use scripts to simplify the maintenance of various computer systems
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- System performance tuning
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Backup and recovery administration
- Hardware and software evaluation and purchase recommendations
