Role Description

We have an immediate exciting opportunity for a Senior Full-Stack Java Engineer in Chicago, Illinois. This position will be primarily responsible for the back-end development of full stack SaaS web applications and plugins that integrate into a wide variety of technologies and testing frameworks. This position will be part of a team that manages a large set of products across multiple different technologies (Java/Python/GoLang/Spring Boot Framework). The Full Stack Engineer will be expected to be able to get up to speed quickly and be willing to learn and work on technologies outside their knowledge area and show daily progress towards their work. A background with Cybersecurity standards and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks, PCI-DSS, SOC 2) is a big plus. This is a remote hybrid position requiring proximity (<1 hour) of Chicago, Illinois.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack SaaS web application(s) and plugins.
• Write new features, unit and integration tests, and data migrations.
• Work with support to reproduce and resolve customer issues.
• Assist in the review of pull requests, including security reviews.
• Write and review technical proposals.
• Help maintain existing products by responding to customer issues, fixing bugs, and adding new features. 

Required Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent, AWS Certification and/or Java Certification is a plus
• A background with Enterprise SaaS product development
• 5+ years’ experience in full-stack software design, development and implementation with Back-End (Primary) and Front-End (Secondary)
• Strong commercial proficiency with Java, JavaScript and Python is required.
• Experience with Spring Boot frameworks.  
• Database experience (NoSQL, PostGresSQL, MySQL)
• Experience with cloud platform AWS is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Common Web application architectures such as n-tier, micro-services
• Commercial proficency with HTML and CSS
• RESTful API design, implementation, and use
• Source code management, pull request reviews, and related tasks

Compensation: Target comp range for this role is 130 – 145k base salary w/ 11% bonus.
