About the Company - Icy Strait Point is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Hoonah, Alaska. About the Role - This role will focus on recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee activities to ensure an exceptional employee experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for human resources, hospitality, and employee engagement.


Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Staffing: Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, applicant tracking, interviewing, and hiring for seasonal and permanent positions.
  • Onboarding & Orientation: Develop and conduct onboarding programs to welcome and train new hires effectively.
  • Training & Development: Design and facilitate training programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and professional growth.
  • Employee Engagement: Plan and organize employee activities, events, and recognition programs to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Compliance & Policies: Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Employee Relations: Support managers with performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain HR records, prepare reports, and assist with payroll and benefits administration as needed.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Certification: HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated understanding and respect for Alaska Native culture and traditions preferred.
