Skills and Responsibilities:

•Unity Catalog is a centralized governance solution in Databricks that provides roles and responsibilities for managing data access, security, and lineage.

•Some roles and responsibilities associated with Unity Catalog include a highly privileged role that can add users, service principals, and groups to a workspace.

•They can also manage job ownership, view and manage notebooks, dashboards, and queries, and more.

•The principal who creates an object becomes its initial owner.

•They have all the privileges on the object and can grant privileges to other principals.

•Can change the ownership of an object if it’s contained within a catalog Can view an object’s metadata using Catalog Explorer, the schema browser, search results, and more.

•All users are granted the BROWSE privilege by default on new catalogs.

•Centralized access control: Administer data access policies across all workspaces Standards-compliant security model.

•Grant permissions using ANSI SQL syntax

•Built-in auditing and lineage

•Automatically captures user-level audit logs and lineage data Tag and document data assets, and use a search interface to find data Access and query accounts operational data, including audit logs, billable usage, and lineage.
