We’re seeking a highly skilled Embedded Systems Engineer to join us on a contract basis. In this role, you will lead the design and development of the electronics and embedded firmware for our next-generation wireless mouse. If you have a passion for creating innovative consumer products and pushing the boundaries of embedded technology, we’d love to hear from you!
Role Overview
As an Embedded Systems Engineer , you’ll be responsible for designing, prototyping, and optimizing the hardware and firmware of a low-power, high-performance wireless mouse . You’ll work closely with industrial designers and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of sensors, switches, and wireless modules. This is a hands-on position that involves everything from initial architecture decisions to test and validation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hardware Design & PCB Layout
- Develop low-power electronic systems tailored for consumer electronics (wireless mouse).
- Select and integrate off-the-shelf components (optical sensors, microswitches, wireless modules) while considering power, size, and cost constraints.
- Create schematics, perform PCB layout, and oversee prototype fabrication.
2. Firmware Development
- Program and debug embedded C/C++ firmware for microcontrollers handling wireless communication (e.g., Bluetooth, 2.4GHz) and sensor input.
- Optimize firmware for power efficiency , latency, and overall performance.
3. Prototyping & Testing
- Build and test functional prototypes, validating performance, durability, and user experience.
- Perform iterative troubleshooting and refine the design based on test feedback.
4. Regulatory Compliance
- Assist in achieving FCC , CE , and other relevant certifications for consumer electronics.
- Ensure adherence to safety and performance standards throughout development.
5. Collaboration & Documentation
