We are in search of a mature, self-motivated, and determined Senior Interior Designer who takes the initiative and stays current with home design trends, to join our elite team of professionals. This individual will be responsible for managing the home design component of projects including interior design and selections from start to finish, while working collaboratively with our team through the pre-construction and construction phase of the project. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and have a refined taste for design.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Senior Interior Designer, responsible for working on a variety of smaller caliber projects, spearheading all interior design duties.

- Under the supervision of the Millwork Design Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer include, but are not limited to, the following:
Client Consultation and Sales
- Attends initial site meetings to build relationships with clients, understand their concerns, and gather detailed information on their design preferences and functional needs;
- Listens attentively to client design preferences, functional needs and budget constraints;
- Takes measurements and photographs of existing spaces for accurate planning and design;
- Develops comprehensive interior and kitchen design concepts that align with client objectives and project requirements;
- Prepares and presents design proposals, mood boards, and sample materials to clients, guides clients through design showrooms, explaining design choices for client review and approval;
- Follows up with clients through emails and calls to ensure client satisfaction and close sales;
- Gathers client feedback and addresses any concerns promptly; and
- Ensures smooth transition of projects from design to production, maintaining proactive communication with clients and internal teams.
Design Development
- Creates detailed drawings, floor plans and 3D renderings to visually communicate design ideas;
- Utilizes the company’s pricing catalogue to prepare accurate project specifications and proposals;
- Assists with various design tasks, such as choosing trim, light fixtures, and other interior elements;
- Selects and sources high-quality materials, fixtures, finishes and appliances that enhance the overall design and meets quality standards; and
- Ensures all design aspects are of high-quality and high-level finishes, demonstrating keen attention to detail.
Project Execution
- Transitions seamlessly between interior design and kitchen design duties based on project needs;
- Adapts to various project sizes and complexities, ensuring quality and detail in all work;
- Executes interior design tasks, ensuring precise and high-quality craftsmanship;
- Manages project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure on-time and within-budget completion;
- Leads initial inspection and follow-up with clients to confirm project specifications and design choices;
- Coordinates with contractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure the successful execution of design plans;
- Oversees the installation of all design elements and;
- Conducts site visits to monitor progress, address any issues and ensures design specifications are met.
Documentation and Compliance
- Ensures compliance with building codes, regulations and safety standards throughout the design process;
- Utilizes design software to create and maintain accurate project documentation; and
- Maintains clear and effective communication with clients and the internal team through all project phases.
Industry Engagement
- Stays current with industry trends, new materials and design innovations to continuously improve design offerings.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Degree of Diploma in Interior Design, Architectural Technology or a related field;
- Minimum Five (5) years’ experience in residential interior design;
- ARDIO Certification or working toward
- Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle required;
- Advanced knowledge and experience using MS O365, BuilderTrend, AutoCAD, Sketch Up and Enscape required (2020 Design knowledge is an asset);
- Excellent knowledge of design trends, with the ability to draft, sketch and render designs;
- Strong understanding of construction practices and ability to identify and address job site deficiencies;
- Familiarity with high-end product vendors and suppliers;
- Ability to manage a project from start to finish;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working in a team environment;
- Familiarity establishing and maintain strong working relationships with various vendors and suppliers; and
- Professional demeanor with a focus on client satisfaction and problem-solving.
