The Position :
In your role as Marketing Communications Project Manager (MarComm PM), you will have the opportunity to apply your strong knowledge of account and project management to manage multi-faceted projects that meet or exceed client expectations, profitability targets, and standards for effective teamwork. In your role, you will manage all aspects of the project including the scope of work, budgeting, delegation, client communication, and relationship management.
The ideal candidate will coordinate all aspects of the project lifecycle from kickoff to launch while also managing and nurturing the client relationship across all facets of the agency’s services. Of primary importance will be ensuring that the internal team and client feel supported and confident in your ability to not only efficiently accomplish the project but also add value at each stage.
A key part of the role will also include developing and executing regular account plans to align with the client's business goals, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring that the agency’s services consistently deliver value. The candidate will also conduct monthly and quarterly account reviews, track performance, evaluate project outcomes, and discuss strategic initiatives to continuously optimize client relationships and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the MarComm PM include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and communicate detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage accounts and projects of various types from start to finish with minimal support, while ensuring all team members are aware of project status.
- Regularly review and manage project budgets by tracking hours used against projections, and ensuring projects stay within budget. This includes checking monthly budgets, forecasting resources, and planning for upcoming months and quarters based on project scopes and timelines.
- Analyze and measure the effectiveness of account and project initiatives on customer satisfaction engagement, and return on investment (ROI). Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and proactively implement solutions to ensure projects stay on track. Communicate effectively internally and with clients to keep everyone aligned.
- Work with cross-functional teams, leveraging their expertise, along with forecasting task lists, managing competing priorities, and efficiently allocating resources.
- Efficiently manage agency time and resources, applying your ability to tackle unexpected challenges and communicating appropriately with the client.
- Coordinate and optimize the strengths of various cross-functional team members and fill gaps to ensure project team efficiency and collaboration.
- Take a consultative and empathetic approach to provide strategic solutions that meet client’s needs and specific business goals while generating the highest ROI.
- Use your knowledge of PM tools, digital marketing, and agency standards to educate others and promote continuous improvement across the team (i.e., workflow management software and PM methodology).
- Stay up to date with industry trends and strategies and integrate insights into Pace Creatives' processes and templates, helping Pace Creative stay competitive and efficient.
Required Technical Competencies
The key skills and qualities of a Marketing Project Manager are:
- Completed diploma or university degree preferably in a related field such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- 3-5 years as a Project Manager.
- 1-2 years as an Account or Portfolio Manager.
- Ability to commute to the office via transit.
- Completed diploma or university degree in English Literature.
- 2-3 years of customer service experience.
- Advanced Time and Organization Management.
- Planning, Forecasting and Executing Client projects and Accounts.
- Excellent Problem Solving and critical thinking skills: ability to assess complex situations, identify problems, and develop solutions.
- Sharp sense of Urgency: focusing on priorities and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Attention to Detail: thorough quality control combined with exhaustive monitoring and reporting.
- PMP certification is preferred.
