Job Description

PeopleShare is hiring a Paralegal! This is a direct hire opportunity with a reputable, well-established company in Virginia Beach!
Schedule: M-F, 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: $55k-$60k/year
Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all tasks are delegated to the appropriate team members, manage project schedules, set case milestones, and meet all deadlines, including filing requirements with the Court
- Maintain a centralized database to track the current status and progress of each case, ensuring comprehensive, up-to-date information is readily accessible
- Conduct research from multiple sources, including subscription services, online databases, and library resources, to support case preparation
- Review and summarize legal documents, including depositions, to provide concise and actionable insights for case development
- Organize and compile materials, documents, reports, and evidence needed for case preparation
- Apply technical information to make informed decisions and provide recommendations to the supervising attorney
- Prepare trial notebooks, organize exhibits, and assist in other pre-trial preparations
- Draft reports, client communications, and other legal documents
- Communicate with clients in person, by phone, and via email to provide updates and address inquiries with professionalism and empathy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or Paralegal Certificate required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in family/domestic law
- Strong understanding of family law policies and procedures, with familiarity in legal terminology and principles from college-level study
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines
- Proficient in conducting legal research using both law libraries and electronic resources
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (Word and Excel), LegalBar, and typing speed of 50 WPM
