Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Kokomo, Indiana, 46902
Shift : Must be open to all 3 shifts to be considered. Train on 1st for a couple months and typically stay or switch depending on need.
Pay : Up to $30.00/hr
Job Description:
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to manage small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. As a key player in driving operational excellence, you will oversee production goals, safety protocols, and continuous improvement activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for improving processes, and the ability to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage small work teams to ensure production goals are met while addressing operational challenges.
- Analyze performance, implement continuous improvement activities, and drive efficiency in your designated zone.
- Ensure safety in the workplace, enforce safety protocols, and lead initiatives to improve safety outcomes.
- Analyze quality KPIs, prioritize quality issues, and provide guidance to team leaders to maintain high standards.
- Allocate labor effectively, manage absenteeism, and develop, train, and build strong teams.
- Coordinate with broader manufacturing support teams to lead problem-solving efforts.
- Lead Kaizen projects focused on safety, cost reduction, quality improvements, throughput, and waste reduction.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Must be flexible and open to working all shifts and overtime (as required).
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with employees at all levels, from hourly workers to senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Google Suite is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and availability to work various shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience in a unionized work environment.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor team members.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
- Work around heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Wear necessary safety equipment, including safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toed shoes.
- Stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in tight spaces and climb ladders/man lifts as needed.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Compensation:
- Pay rate: Up to $30/hr.
- Overtime: Time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
