HHM CPAs is looking to add a Part-Time Kitchen Assistant to help our Head Chef during tax season. HHM provides on-site meals during tax season and will need someone with experience in the food service or catering industry to be a pivotal player in making sure the kitchen runs smoothly.

Duties:

• Assist in food & meal preparation - follow instructions given by chef in order to prepare food items for meals.
• Cleaning /sanitation - clean up kitchen area during prep and post-meal service - wiping counters, washing dishes, sweeping floor, keeping kitchen organized as you work
• Refill food items on buffet and wipe counters during food service as necessary
• Comply with health and sanitation guidelines
• Following list of tasks and preparation duties while chef is away from the kitchen
• Preparing basic meals (sandwich buffet, baked potato bar, etc) alone for roughly 100 people
• Assisting chef with food purchasing if necessary

Requirements:

• Food service industry knowledge preferred
• Catering experience helpful
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment/tools
• Ability to follow basic recipes, measure ingredients, comfortable handling a knife, using ovens, stove top and grill
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time
• Team player, able to follow instructions, able to work unsupervised at times (following a list of tasks provided)
• Ability to work clean and work organized, following health and safety guidelines (handwashing, labeling food products, ensuring food is cooked to proper temperature, hair restrained as necessary, etc)
