The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role will provide valuable experience in a fast-paced legal environment and the opportunity to contribute significantly to the success of our clients' cases.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis, including case law, statutes, and other legal sources.
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Organize and maintain case files, including electronic and paper documents.
- Conduct client intake and interviews, and maintain client contact.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
- Summarize depositions, medical records, and other relevant documents.
- Assist with e-discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production.
- Prepare trial notebooks and exhibits.
- Assist with the development of trial strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm setting is preferred.
- Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate in all work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
