Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing suppliers for materials, components, and products required in the manufacturing process.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate existing ones.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for materials and equipment based on production needs.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available without overstocking.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues with orders.
- Assist with negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost-effective purchases.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and inventory.
- Track purchase order statuses and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Assist in managing the procurement budget by tracking costs and looking for opportunities to reduce expenses.
- Support the inventory control team by tracking material usage and adjusting purchase schedules as needed.
- Collaborate with the production team to understand material needs based on production schedules.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and suggest improvements in supply chain processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Preferred for a candidate to have at least 3 years experience in purchasing, logistics, or customer service type role.
- ERP experience preferred.
- This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent problem-solving skills, good interpersonal, and the ability to multitask.
- Good communication skills (verbal & written) in correspondence with vendors, customers, managers, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of organizational skills and office practices.
- Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office Software especially MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
