Job Title: Scrum Master

Location: Madison, WI 53783 (Hybrid - 2-3 days a week in the office)

Duration: 12 months

Contract Type: W2 only

Pay Rate: $65 - $70/Hour

Responsibilities

• Facilitates Agile events for assigned product and services production delivery teams.
• Provides and develops meaningful metrics including Velocity, Sprint Burndown, Lead time, Cycle time and throughput to drive continuous improvement and to support forecasting and planning.
• Acts as servant leader to enable the team to be self-organized, cross-functional and effective in an environment new to Agile delivery.
• Facilitates team collaboration, decision making and conflict resolution in the production support Incident and Problem Management space.
• Assists in managing dependencies with other teams and areas across the enterprise.
• Coordinates team activities during PI planning events
• Manages projects as needed.

The Scrum Master will be assigned to multiple engineering squads consisting of the following areas:

• Application Production Support
• Security
• Platform Hardening and System Performance

Duties include:

• Coaches squad Members and Product Owner on Agile principles and best practices
• Assists squad in clearing obstacles that prevent completion of work
• Protects squad from outside interruptions and distractions, and from requests not following squad’s intake process and/or not prioritized by the Product Owner
• Identifies and addresses team dynamics that affect productivity (and escalates if needed)
• Identifies and addresses gaps in squad processes and duties
• Monitors squad’s board(s) to ensure all required information is completed for Stories and Epics
• Guides the squad members in self-management and cross-functionality
• Facilitates squad ceremonies (Stand-up, Refinement, Planning/Decomp, Retro)
• Provides feedback on squad members
• Promotes an environment where the squad can be effective, promoting continual improvement and experimentation
• Must be experienced in the Application Production Support space.
• Familiarity with overall Application/Infrastructure Security
• ServiceNow and Jira experience is a must.
• Project Management experience as this role may also help with leading small projects.
• Strong metrics, dashboard and reporting experience. (Preferably in Jira, ServiceNow, Datadog, Google Analytics is a plus)
• Would like someone with some technical background.
