Job Title: Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Department: Electrical Design Engineering
Reports To: Director of Electrical Design
Purpose of Position
The Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for optimizing production processes through collaboration and documentation while maintaining a strong interface between the design teams and production staff. This role includes supervisory responsibilities for a team of manufacturing engineers and wiring designers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of manufacturing engineers and wiring designers.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure team performance and professional development.
Essential Functions
- Standardize and enhance wiring manufacturing processes across all production facilities.
- Collaborate with electrical design engineering teams to improve manufacturability of designs.
- Coordinate and evaluate pilot programs for new manufacturing processes, equipment, or technologies, driving the adoption of successful initiatives.
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards in all work produced by the Electrical Manufacturing Engineering team.
- Partner with operations and production teams to identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and align engineering and manufacturing goals.
- Provide hands-on technical support to production teams, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular factory floor inspections, engaging with production teams and following up with necessary parties.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing guidelines for electrical processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality assurance, production, design engineering, and mechanical counterparts, to integrate design and manufacturing processes seamlessly.
- Assist design-to-order, new product development, and R&D engineering teams in optimizing designs for manufacturing.
- Support Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams in root cause investigations.
- Track and report key performance metrics related to process improvements, production efficiency, and design accuracy.
- Travel to company plants (up to 25%) to follow up with local teams and key stakeholders.

- Proficiency in electrical schematics, wiring design, and manufacturing processes.

- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to evaluate pilot programs, root causes, and process improvements.

- Expertise in functional and production validation testing methods.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience optimizing electrical manufacturing processes.
- At least 2 years in a leadership role, mentoring manufacturing engineers.
