Key Responsibilities:
Project Design & Development
- Perform detailed design tasks, including heat loss/gain calculations, ventilation and exhaust systems, equipment selection, and hydronic system analysis.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical, building, and energy codes.
- Draft designs using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with architects, general contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
- Contribute to process improvements within the design team.
Project Administration
- Manage submittals and RFIs, ensuring timely responses and resolution.
- Communicate project schedule updates to senior management.
- Delegate tasks to designers and engineers to optimize team performance.
Quality Control
- Provide training and mentorship to designers and engineers.
- Attend manufacturer-led training sessions and stay updated on industry standards.
- Conduct site visits to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.
Staff Development
- Lead training initiatives for junior team members.
- Participate in hands-on site visits and technical skill-building opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and construction.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience mentoring and training junior staff preferred.
- Ability to manage priorities, work effectively under pressure, and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
